After that some area of Chicago rive at its mouth occupied by the military base. Fort was attacked regularly by the Native Americans, until the Black Hawk defeated in 1832. After a year this city was incorporated officially as a town four years later, when population of city reached at 4170, and the city name delivered from native Indians world by describing that area.
With arrivals of railroads, this city was really started to the boom reaching the population of 300,000 in year 1870, and after a year disasters struck with great Chicago Fire that lay out city in ashes. That fire destroyed 17450 buildings, but Chicagoans started quickly again rebuilding of city. After 6 weeks of fire, more than 300 building's construction had already started. And then in 1893 city of Chicago had recovered good enough to host 1893 Exposition of World Columbian.
At 19th century end, land prices of this city had risen dramatically that lead to the higher building constructions. In 1885 William L Baron Home Insurance building that is known as first skyscraper. That building was demolished in year 1931 and was 55 meters tall including 9 stories, extended later to 11 stories. Structure of this build was build as a load carrying frame, which would be basically structured for skyscrapers later. This Chicago build marks as pioneering architecture of city. May other famous architects like L Sullivan and Mies later would set a new standard of urban Chicago architecture which highly grew up in some other neighboring cities as well.
